Stagecoach Stop Western Resort Wedding | Andy and Danielle
It’s always fun to photograph a wedding at a unique location, and Andy and Danielle’s big day definitely fit that description. They were married at Stagecoach Stop Western Resort in Michigan’s Irish Hills area, southeast of Jackson. The resort is built to resemble and old-west town complete with storefronts, saloons, etc. It was kind of like being on the set of a Clint Eastwood movie, but instead of a shootout in the town square, there was a wedding ceremony!
Andy and Danielle were both getting ready at the same location, him in the basement and her upstairs. I started the day with Andy as he got dressed and read a letter from Danielle.
Meanwhile, upstairs…
These two both went to U of M so Danielle had to rep some Michigan pride in a few photos.
Danielle’s mom saw her in her dress for the first time as she came down the stairs.
This balcony was a perfect way to get a photo of the whole wedding party before the ceremony without the bride and groom seeing each other!
Go Blue!
After photos with the girls we headed to Stagecoach Stop for the ceremony.
Andy and Danielle had decided to pray together in the chapel before the ceremony. Andy’s groomsmen led him to where Danielle was waiting.
I love these photos of Danielle coming down the aisle, with Andy clearly being overwhelmed with emotion.
It started pouring rain while I was shooting these next few photos. The wedding party was safe on the porch of the chapel but I got soaked… totally worth it though.
Texas barbecue is always a good choice.
After the usual first dance and parent dances, I got to photograph my first Greek dance, and it was quite an experience. Everyone links hands with the bride and groom leading and the whole train of people spirals around and crosses under itself repeatedly while extremely festive Greek music pumps out of the speakers. Chaos of the most enjoyable kind.
Andy had a dance with his grandma later in the evening.
