Sault Ste Marie / LSSU Wedding | Karly and Erich
Karly has family in both the US and Canada so Sault Ste Marie, Michigan was a perfect place for her wedding to Erich. The ceremony took place at Lake Superior State University and the bride got ready in one of the guest rooms on campus.
Karly’s mom helped her with her jewlery while her maid of honor helped with her shoes.
The ceremony was scheduled to take place outdoors but was moved inside due to high winds and cold temperatures, but Karly and Erich didn’t let that dampen their spirits. You could tell that what they really cared about was each other and a change of scenery wasn’t going to ruin their day.
After the ceremony we headed downtown to celebrate. The first stop was the Downtowner, where Karly’s mom and dad first met each other years ago.
I loved the color and texture of this wall next to the bar so we used it for some wedding party photos.
Then it was time for another round and a casual portrait of the guys at the bar.
The county courthouse served as a nice location for our last stop before the reception.
The reception was a Kewadin Casino in Sault Ste Marie and three was a covered bridge that we decided to take advantage of on the way into the venue. We started with a few natural light shots before doing something a little more dramatic.
The wedding cake has a birch-bark theme which is a great fit for an Upper Peninsula wedding!
Karly and Erich’s first dance started out slow and traditional but quickly turned into a fun choreographed affair set to a medley of different tunes.
Karly had a lovely and emotional dance with her dad, and after that the party really kicked off.
